ESF is the regional counterpart of World Social Forum. It was first held in Florence 2002, lastly in Athens 2006. Together the forums have been attended by over 150 000 participants and joined thousands of organizations and networks determined to make another Europe possible. At least 15.000 joined the ESF march on Saturday the 20th of September.The forum program has been attended by over 13.000 participants from all over Europe. It has been a unique event in Scandinavia and a new step for the forum process. The 2008 ESF has created a lot of exiting initiatives, from networking towards the Climate summit in Copenhagen 2009 to campaigns for labour rights, common welfare and a real social Europe. |
